It was a glorious Reformation Day as we celebrated with the body of Christ and focused fully on the glory of Christ as our great High Priest who is our only source of atonement.  We began by reading Psalm 42 and singing “Beautiful One” and “God Over All“.  Brian Daniels gave a heart-gripping, tear-filled, and Christ-exalting testimony of Crossway’s plant through Christ Baptist.  We then sang Sovereign Grace’s version of “What A Savior” and then “Before The Throne Of God Above” marveling that “in our place condemned He stood”.  Justin Childers exposited Hebrews 4:14-16 which is perhaps the greatest summary verse of Hebrews and of the entire Bible

Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
(Hebrews 4:14-16 ESV)

We finished the service by singing “All I Have Is Christ” trusting that the Reformers would have shouted “Hallelujah all I have is Christ, Hallelujah Jesus is my life!”.  A great Sunday filled with Bible-saturated, Christ-exalting, God-honoring worship.
