This post has been a long time coming.  I wanted to encourage everyone with how faithful God is and how great it is to serve a sovereign God who cares about the details.  So I have decided to give a little update on where I am in my ministry… I still have the privilege to serve at Christ Baptist Church in Wilson every Sunday and I count it a joy to serve alongside such great pastors of the gospel and lead others in worshipping the risen Christ as He would have it.  I also have the opportunity, thanks to Open Door Baptist Church and Christ Baptist to be involved in an internship/mentorship with Josh Berrus, the worship pastor for Open Door.  It is a fruitful time where every other Monday me and about 15 other interns gather to glean wisdom from 3 pastors/theologians/awesome men of God (Dwayne Milioni, Pete Schemm, and Bob Jones).  And then the other Mondays I meet with Josh one-on-one for about 2 hours to learn from his many years of ministry and grow closer to Christ through his example.  As for actual music ministry I had the pleasure to serve the youth at Olde Mount Vernon Baptist Church, now Grace Baptist Church in Wake Forest, through leading worship for their Fall conference.  And now in about 2 months I will have the opportunity to again serve them as we travel to Lincolnton, NC for another conference with several other churches from around the state and lead them all in worship through singing as Aaron Swain, the youth pastor, and some other speakers lead the youth in worship through the Word.  And finally I have been asked to fly across the country, to Idaho, to lead worship for one of my best friend’s wedding in June.  I consider it a huge honor to do this for Dylan and Bobbie and count it as one of the biggest blessings of my year.  On the upcoming radar for those of you who are worship leaders or worshippers who wish to find out what makes us worship guys tick, I am super excited about attending this year’s WorshipGod09 Conference in August.  John Piper and Sovereign Grace what more could a Calvinist worship leader ask for?!?!?!?!?  That is all for now.  I will try to keep more current on this blog as occasion may require.
